Founded in 2024 by a team of designers, engineers, and operators who got tired of AI tools that demanded more attention than they returned.
In late 2023, our co-founders were running an ops team at a fast-growing startup. They had access to every shiny new AI tool — and somehow, they were busier than ever. Each tool added a tab, a notification, a context switch. The tools were saving minutes and stealing hours.
So they sketched what an "anti-tool" might look like. Something that disappeared until you needed it. Something that did the work in the background and only showed up with a result, a question, or a draft. Something that respected your attention as much as your output.
That sketch became W5D. Today we're a team of 38 across three continents, supporting 42,000+ teams who'd rather make than manage.
